Tips for the Best Man
You might remember a couple of posts back when we shared some of our best tips for maids of honor, but we couldn’t go without giving tips for the best man also! Being there for your friend is a crucial role during the wedding planning process, whether you’re a best man or a maid of honor. The best man’s job is primarily to be the go-to for the rest of the groomsmen, as the groom has enough to deal with leading up to the wedding! Read below for some tips on how to make things a piece of cake for¬†your best man!
Planning the bachelor party – a crucial part of your best man duties are planning the bachelor party. Whether you spend a night at his favorite bar or you plan a weeklong getaway, planning this fun event is key! Enlist the rest of his groomsmen to help get everything hashed out; this way, everyone is involved and will know costs upfront.
- Organizing fittings – getting everyone – especially the groom – fitted for their suit can be a daunting process but is ultimately the most important. Your duties in this realm might include getting everyone’s measurements, deciding whether to rent or buy, and following up to make sure everyone’s order is coming in at the right time. Plus, being the go-to man in this department is one less thing the groom has to worry about.
- Be his right-hand man – the groom chose you as the best man for a reason! By being there for him, you’re relieving a lot of stress he might otherwise experience without you. Double- and triple-checking everything for him, helping prep the honeymoon, and even just standing next to him at the altar will provide great comfort.
