How to Incorporate Dad Into Your Wedding
June 20, 2018How to Incorporate Dad Into Your Wedding
It may seem like the mother of the bride gets to have all the fun: she goes dress shopping, she helps choose flowers and taste cakes (although, dad may love this one too). Why can’t the father of the bride join in the fun? If you’re a soon-to-be bride and you’re wondering how to incorporate dad into your wedding, don’t worry! We’re here to help with a few tips that’ll make dad feel like a special part of your big day.
- The dance you’ll share with dad is a special moment. What better way to share a memorable moment with dad than by twirling around to a song he chose? Keeping it a surprise is sure to make the moment that much more sentimental. As an added bonus (and great quality time), embark on a few dance lessons with him to show off your moves on the dance floor.
- Bring dad and your groom together to choose some signature mixed drinks for the bar. After all, weddings are no longer simply beer and wine! Dad will also enjoy serving guests their concoction as he tends bar.
- Give dad an excuse to ogle over classic cars by asking him to arrange post-wedding transportation. It’s a small but important detail that gets lost in the shuffle of dress fittings and cake tastings.
- Is your dad the life of the party? If your dad has a big personality, ask him to serve as the host, welcoming and thanking guests and emceeing the speeches at the reception. Plus, he’s sure to make everyone laugh at least once!
