Grooms Can Have Fun, Too!
April 18, 2018No Groom Left Behind
Most of the time, weddings appear to be all about the bride: what kind of flowers she wants, who she’ll invite, what she’ll wear, what she wants her guests to eat and drink. But, men have just as much a say in what happens, too! After all, the man is traditionally the one who pops the question, so why does it seem like they always get left behind? In movies and TV shows, husbands-to-be are always depicted as taking a back seat, letting the women be front and center. Wedding planning is fun, and it’s even more fun when both parties are involved. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your big today together, because grooms can have fun, too!
- Help her plan the registry. Now is the time to really plan what you want – a wishlist of sorts. While we don’t recommend you add that new set of golf clubs, this is the time where it is okay to add those Parachute sheets you’ve been eyeing. She’ll appreciate them as much as you!
- Plan something special for your groomsmen. No, we aren’t talking about a blow-out bachelor party, but a small sentiment that will make them feel important – not just someone in a wedding party. From a monogrammed low ball glass to custom cuff links, there’s no shortage of ideas out there. Be sure to choose something that serves not only as a memento of your wedding day, but something that shows how much your groomsmen mean to you.
- Say it with Style. While it’s easy to go the traditional route of a tuxedo or a black suit, white shirt, and black tie, we appreciate a groom who incorporates his own style into his wedding day attire. Are you a bow-tie guy? Maybe you want to show off your love of suspenders and a well-coiffed ‘do. For men with more subdued style, try a pair of custom cuff links, or socks that speak to your style. Better yet, choose one facet of your outfit to coordinate with your bride – it’ll make the two of you that much closer on your special day.
