Three Ways to Make Your Rehearsal Dinner Meaningful
It’s the day before the wedding, and everything is slowly falling into place: the caterers are prepped, vows have been written, bridesmaids dresses have been altered. There’s just one last little thing: the rehearsal dinner. Your rehearsal dinner is said to be the most relaxing part of the wedding, as it is simply a celebration of the excitement of the dawning day. Plus, only the wedding party and close family attend the rehearsal dinner, making it a little more laid back than your wedding will most likely be. The setting is more intimate than the wedding reception, thus made out to be an incredibly meaningful event. Here, we suggest three of our favorite ways to make your rehearsal dinner meaningful.
- Extend the invitation past your wedding party and immediate family to grandparents, other close friends not in your wedding party, and even out of town friends who may be coming in that day. It’s a great opportunity to bring families together and welcome any out of town guests. Everyone – especially your grandparents – will be glad you included them in this memorable moment!
- If you choose to host your rehearsal dinner at a restaurant, select a spot that’s meaningful to you and your soon-to-be spouse. Maybe it’s a place you had your first date many years ago or the spot you return to every year for an anniversary celebration. No matter which it is, including your loved ones in the memory will make your rehearsal dinner that much more meaningful.
- Or, if you host your rehearsal dinner at your wedding venue (did we mention Destin Bay House is a great spot to host your rehearsal dinner?), center your menu around items that hold a special meaning to the both of you. Cuisine that you both love and have shared memories over is a great touch. If you shared an especially meaningful trip to Maine and couldn’t stop talking about the lobster and butter sauce, incorporating it into your menu is another great way to share that memory with your guests.
You might be hosting your wedding at Destin Bay House, but did you know this is also a great spot to host your rehearsal dinner? With spacious indoor and outdoor venues, we can accommodate almost any size party. Give us a call today so we can help you plan the perfect rehearsal dinner!
