Four Steps to a Boho Christmas Wedding

Posted on by Ashley Smith

This season, two of our favorite wedding decor schemes marry perfectly: Boho and Christmas. The magic of the holiday season casts a spell of excitement and anticipation, whereas the Boho vibe reminds us to relax and enjoy the ride; like you and yours, it’s a perfectly harmonious duo.  Plan your own Boho Christmas wedding with these simple design tips.

Stockings

At the Destin Bay House, you can hang your stockings by the fireplace with care–a knitted stocking with fringe and poof, that is. Instead of a well-wishes jar for friends and family to drop a note for you, the happy couple, have them tuck their blessings and prayers into a stocking. Wait until Christmas Day to open them, and you’ll have an unforgettable holiday.

Cozy Throws

Nothing says Boho more than the coziness of wrapping up in a warm blanket. Leave soft throws lying about your ceremony and reception. Drape them over the rocking chairs and love seats on our bay-front lawn. The feeling of warmth and coziness created by your thoughtfulness invites guests to linger and share in the warmth of your new marriage.

Evergreens

Let greenery take center stage as the centerpieces. Rather than using flowers, use clippings from evergreens, like juniper. Not only will juniper create a stunning display, the bright, piney scent will infuse your reception and transport guests to a winter-state of mind.

Wood-Scented Candles

In addition to the natural perfume created by greenery, hang pine, fir, or cedar scented candles. The twinkling dance of candle-light casts warm shadows, providing a sense of primal comfort. Additionally, the scent of natural wood lends itself to the winter vibes of a forested wonderland.
