Before “I Do” Comes To Do: Six Secrets to Happily Ever After

Destin Bay House: Wedding To Do List

With Valentine’s Day just behind us, we know there are a lot of newly engaged couples out there. At the  Destin Bay House we are so excited for you! We love love and a great wedding. Before you say “I do,” here is a simple wedding to-do list to kick start your happily ever after.

  1. Talk Priorities

Before calling vendors, there’s one person you have to talk with first: your future spouse. Discuss ideas for the wedding and, more importantly, your marriage. Talk short-term and long-term goals. Do you want an intimate ceremony and grand reception? Will a close friend or relative perform the ceremony? Nail down details and set the tone for a strong partnership for years to come.

  1. Start Saving

Do an online search of interest rates at local banks and start saving now. You’ll be glad you did when it’s time to choose vendors and arrange honeymoon plans.

  1. Get the Ring Sized

“Let me see the ring!” You will (joyously!) hear this a thousand times, so make sure it’s not sliding off or too snug.  Those first few days without your ring may seem like an eternity, but think of how you’ll feel when it’s a perfect fit.

  1. Select a Season

You don’t have to send out save-the-dates yet, but all your friends and family will want to know, “When’s the big day?” Choose a season (next summer, this fall) and save your guests the guesswork.

  1. Choose the Perfect Wedding Venue and Coordinator

This may be the easiest item on your to-do list! At the Destin Bay House, we take care of everything: the bridal cottage, luxurious amenities, and stunning scenery. And our event coordinator Erin, well, the reviews are glowing—just like you!

  1. Get Away Together

Before the wedding, take time to relax and recharge with your sweetheart. That way, the big day doesn’t become bigger than your love for each other. Focus on why you’re choosing to spend your lives together and pave the way for happily ever after.
