H-146Planning a wedding can be stressful, especially since the wedding industry has its own vocabulary! Of course, you have your wedding planner to help you but it’s good to know for yourself. As the leading event venue in Destin, we know the lingo. Here is a guide to wedding terms.

Place Setting. This is a table setup for a single diner and may include a napkin, salad fork, dinner fork, dessert fork, dinner knife, teaspoon, soup spoon, water glass, and wine glass.

Charger. This refers to a large decorative plate that’s placed under the dinner plate.

Tablescape. This is another word for centerpiece.

Handlewrap. This is the fabric that wraps around the bouquet.

Escort cards. These are cards displayed by the entrance that informs guests what table they are at.

Letterpress. This is a technique used for printing that gives the words and images a grooved texture.

Ecru.This is a French term that means “raw” and is a traditional beige color used for invitations.

Fascinator. This is a hair accessory that is worn to the side.

Dyeables. This refers to shoes or fabric that can be dyed to a specific color so they can all match.

Pallet. This describes the range of colors you will use for your wedding.
