Rehearsal Dinner BasicsMarch 10, 2015
Don’t let the name fool you – it’s not just a rehearsal dinner in Destin that you are planning… Here’s everything you need to know about the pre-wedding extravaganza:
Let’s start with the basics of what it is. In the past, the rehearsal dinner was thought of more as a formality, these days it’s cause for celebration. It’s usually a dinner held the night before and has become a great opportunity for families to get to know each other before the wedding day (if they don’t already know each other).
Who hosts the event? Traditionally, the groom’s family, but this isn’t set in stone. If they are hosting, we recommend you let them be the creative directors of the evening. What you should have say-so in is the guest the list. Which brings us to: Who should you invite? At the very least, the rehearsal dinner guest list should include immediate family and wedding party members, but don’t feel limited to just those members. If there’s money in the budget and people you want to include, do it – after all, it is the night before your big day!
We have one final recommendation when it comes to planning your rehearsal dinner: choose the Bay House as your host. What greater place to relieve the pre-wedding tension, make everyone feel comfortable before you say “I do,” than the Destin event venue that is hosting the ceremony and reception?
